Sin. It’s a topic that the church and people don’t like to deal with. We had a discussion late last year that I revisited Sunday about why people sin. I asked the saints a question, “why is it that people don’t hesitate to sin.” The most agreed-upon response was that “there is no immediate admonishment for the act.” In other words, nothing happens when you sin, so people keep doing it. In John 5: 1-15, Jesus deals with this issue, and several other times, The Lord reinforces this same message. Take a look at the text, then read vs. 14 again.
Never think you get away with sin. God sees all, and if your walking in sin, it only gets worse as you go forward in it. If you’re delivered from sin, then worse things can happen to you when you go back into it. God doesn’t want His people walking in sin, so He sent the Lord Jesus to deliver you from sin and give you the power of forgiveness. Ask for forgiveness, and God is faithful to forgive you. Now you’re clean, whole, forgiven, healed, and set free, go and sin no more.
