Many saints have gone through transitioning from one pastor to another or one ministry to another led by someone else. Often the two different ministers heading the ministries have different understandings or interpretations of God’s word. This often causes confusion or frustration in a person that leads to taking actions that cause problems or even trials and/or tribulation in their life. Listen to what Christ told the followers of John the Baptist, as John’s ministry is ending. John wanted to know if Jesus was indeed the Christ, so Jesus responds with the evidence of who He is. The point I want to make is found in verse 6. The choice of transitioning from following one minister to another may not always be a smooth one when it’s not your choice to make. In this situation, what Jesus does here gives you comfort by saying, “blessed is he who is not offended because of Me.” Here, the word “offense” means to cause a person to begin to distrust and desert one whom he ought to trust and obey. The Lord pronounces a blessing over those who do not get tied up in being offended by the new minister. Learn from what Jesus is saying, saints, and be blessed.
